Katerina

She is the most strenuous bear of the Sanctuary and climbs up to the trees faster than any other. She was found in the summer of 1988 at the age of 6 months, at a square in Florina downtown, by habitants of the area and she was transferred at the Zoo in Florina where she spent almost 8 years. She was transferred at ARCTUROS Vet Station in November 1998 where she was under medical examinations and treatment. Katerina joined the Sanctuary in July 1999. In the beginning she was very frightened and aggressive so with people as with the other bears, though nowadays she seems more peaceful and friendly with everyone.
