Patrick

Patrick was found in March 2015 at the outskirts of Vrontero village in Prespes area. It is assumed that his mother was turned away from the nest, or that she was killed in order to take the bear cub and transfer it illegally to Albania, where the exhibition of wild animals in captivity is still spread. ARCTUROS took care of young Patrick for a year aiming at his reintroduction in nature. In April 2016, Patrick returned to his natural habitat, however a month later he showed up at the Bear Sanctuary in Nymfaio. His appearance that close to a place with human presence, mobilized the ARCTUROS Bear Emergency Team, that “captured” and drove him in a protected place of the Environmental Center.
